Five really useful capabilities that Bible programsprovide are: (1) Multiple windows, (2) Linking, (3) Click-on Links, (4) Searches, (5) LexiconsMultiple windows - Let's say you have opened 4 windows. In window #1 you put your favorite Bible translation. In #2 you put a Bible commentary. In #3 you put a cross-reference list, such as Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. In #4 you put a Bible dictionary. Thus, you can read any or all of these resources on one screen of your computer.Linking-- If you jump to (say) John 3.16 in window #1, all the other windows will jump right along with you, to that sameverse. Thus, at any given time, you will have your Bible, commentary, and cross-references all working together,no matter where you go in your Bible.Click-on Links -- If you come across a word that you don't understand, click on it and poof! -- thedictionary in window 4 displays the definition. WORDsearch Bible Software, based in Austin, Texas, was one of the oldest and largest publishers of software and digital books specifically for Christian pastors, Bible teachers, and students.[1] WORDsearch became part of the ministry of B&H Publishing Group of LifeWay Christian Resources of Nashville, Tennessee,[2] but was sold to competitor Faithlife in 2020.[3] Upon the announcement of the sale, it was also announced that Wordsearch would be retired and transitioned to Logos Bible Software, with users receiving Logos for free.[4][5] WORDsearch produced specialized study programs under the brands WORDsearch, QuickVerse, and myWSB and a compatible library of over 5,000 digital books on Windows, MacIntosh, iPad, Android, and web browsers. It was developed under the academic division of B&H Publishing.[6]
QuickVerse 10, is a discontinued variant of the WORDsearch program that reads the same digital books and features most of the same functions. The functional capabilities of QuickVerse 10 better suit the needs of lay Bible teachers. QuickVerse 10 offers a means for hundreds of thousands of past QuickVerse customers to continue using digital books acquired with older versions of QuickVerse.[10] myWSB.com is a free, web browser-based Bible software program with a different functional approach, but nearly the same library of resources as WORDsearch and QuickVerse.[10] WORDsearch Bible is a free mobile Bible software program available for iOS and Android. It offers a limited set of functions on nearly the same library of resources.[11] 2ff7e9595c
